Medik8 H.E.O. Mask is the solution for any skin that has a (chronic) deficiency of moisture. Standard moisturizers focus on two of the following solutions: increasing moisture levels in the skin, preventing moisture from moving to the skin's surface, or minimizing moisture evaporation. The H.E.O. mask combines all three solutions for optimal hydration.

The abbreviation H.E.O. stands for Humectants (ingredients soluble in water), Emollients (ingredients based on oils/lipids) and Occlusives (ingredients that repel water).

1. The blue gel contains Humectants, such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin and NMFs. Hyaluronic acid attracts water and can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. Glycerine also attracts water. NMFs, including urea and amino acids, bind water and retain it in the stratum corneum. They thus create a water reservoir in the upper layers of the skin.
2. The white cream contains Emollients and Occlusives to retain the water from the blue gel in the skin. Ceramides, squalane and linoleic acid strengthen the skin barrier and improve the skin's moisture retention capacity. Dimethicone forms an air-permeable layer on the skin surface that prevents moisture from entering the skin

Ingredients

• Multi-weight hyaluronic acid – Able to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, hyaluronic acid sinks easily into the skin where it draws in moisture, leaving the skin both plumper and more supple.
• Glycerin – A small but powerful molecule and probably the most proven humectant in skin research. Attracts water from the lower layers of the skin.
• Natural moisturizing factors – Natural moisturizing factors (NMF), which occur naturally in the stratum corneum, bind and retain water in the skin. NMF levels in the skin decrease as we age, therefore, NMF components such as urea, amino acids and sodium PCA are useful to restore hydration in mature skin.
• Blue sea kale – A water-soluble marine plant extract from Crambe Maritima. Helps stimulate natural hyaluronic acid synthesis.
• Ceramides – A selection of lipids that naturally occur in the waterproof barrier that lies on top of the upper layers of the skin. Ceramides are essential for retaining water, regulating cells, and helping restore the skin's natural protective shield.
• Squalane – An almost skin-native lipid, squalane helps restore the skin's defenses and deeply hydrates the complexion.
• Dimethicone – The water-repellent properties prevent moisture from escaping the surface of the skin. The large molecules form a vapor-permeable barrier over the skin, allowing the skin to breathe and preventing moisture loss.

Usage

Breng na het reinigen ‘s avonds, als laatste stap in je huidverzorgingsroutine. Van zowel de blauwe gel als de witte crème pakt u een hoeveelheid van ongeveer 1 á 2 cm.

Breng de blauwe gel van H.E.O. Mask voor gezicht, hals en decolleté aan, vermijd de oogcontouren. Laat een paar minuten intrekken en masseer dan zachtjes de witte crème van H.E.O. Mask in dezelfde gebieden. Gedurende de nacht laten inwerken en ‘s ochtends zoals gewoonlijk reinigen. 2-3 keer per week aanbrengen of als gewenst.
